Balance Your Hormones and Feel Better

Hormone imbalances can affect both women and men. Women typically have imbalances in their estrogen and progesterone levels, and men can experience a change in their testosterone levels.

When your hormones aren’t regulated, they can produce a wide range of symptoms that can cause you discomfort.

At our MultiCare Medical practice in Papillion, Nebraska, our team understands the many causes of hormone imbalances and the importance of replacing hormones that have been lost. We use BioTE® as an all-natural approach to bring balance to your hormones and help you feel like yourself again.

Let’s first take a look at the causes of hormone imbalances.

Causes of hormone imbalances

Hormone imbalances can develop from a wide range of causes, including:

Women are more prone to hormonal imbalances than men because of their different endocrine organs and cycles.

If you’re a woman, your cause can be unique throughout your lifetime due to puberty, starting your period, being pregnant, breastfeeding, and going through menopause.

Certain medical conditions, such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), perimenopause, or ovarian cancer can also cause your hormones to get out of balance.

Symptoms of hormone imbalances

Hormonal imbalances have symptoms that affect both men and women. You might notice:

If you suffer with certain conditions, such as diabetes, Cushing syndrome, Addison’s disease,  or thyroid issues, you could be at risk for developing further hormonal imbalances.

For women, you may experience irregularity in your periods, skin tags, vaginal dryness, and night sweats. For men, you might notice tenderness in your breasts, erectile dysfunction (ED), a decrease in muscle mass, and hot flashes.

BioTE can help remedy all of your symptoms and give you the relief you need.

How BioTE works

BioTE uses pellets with bioidentical hormones that are very similar to your natural hormones. Your body recognizes them as their own, which minimizes the chance of side effects. The pellets are plant-based, using soybeans and yams.

After your treatment, you should experience relief within two to four weeks. Instead of traditional hormone replacement therapies, such as creams and gels, BioTE’s pellets allow bioidentical hormones to be released into your bloodstream consistently for up to six months.

To administer BioTE, we make a tiny incision in your upper buttocks and insert very small pellets under the lining of your skin. We then close the skin with tape strips or surgical glue. You won’t be able to feel the pellets under your skin.

Your body naturally absorbs the pellets, and they eventually dissolve. Depending on your individual needs and condition, you may need three or four pellet insertions a year.
